Polesie snatched victory from Dnepra-1 in the penalty shootout in the 1/8 finals Ukrainian Cup — 1:1 in regular and extra time, 5:4 on penalties.
The first half passed without any goals scored. Towards the end of the match, after a pass from Alexander Svatka, Vladimir Adamyuk scored. However, in stoppage time, Bogdan Kushnirenko managed to equalize the score and send the match into overtime.
In extra time, the Dnipro team managed to score a goal, which was canceled due to offside. The match went to a penalty shootout.
Zhytomyr goalkeeper Denis Boyko parried the Dnepr team’s first shot from Alexey Gutsulyak. The rest of the players converted their attempts, which brought victory to the hosts.
In the next match, Polesie will play away against Kolos on October 1. Dnepr-1 will host Metalist 1925 on October 2.
