Ronaldo seeks $626,000 back from lawyer who led soccer player rape case

Cristiano Ronaldo demands $626,000 from an attorney in a rape case.

According to documents obtained by AP, Ronaldo’s lawyer filed a complaint with a US District Court judge. The lawsuit seeks reimbursement of legal costs from Leslie’s attorney, Mark Stovall, who represented accuser Ronaldo. A Nevada resident claimed that Ronaldo raped her in 2009 in Las Vegas.

“Given Stovall’s abuse and gross misconduct, he should be held personally responsible to redress Ronaldo for having had to defend himself against his bad faith,” the footballer’s lawyer said in a statement.

According to AP, the lawsuit lists attorney fees ranging from $350 to $850 an hour for nearly 1,200 hours of work on Ronaldo’s civil lawsuit.

On June 10, the court dismissed a civil suit for more than $25 million in damages. The court ruled that Stovall used stolen documents during discussions between Ronaldo and his lawyers in the case.
