The 2030 FIFA World Cup could last 44 days, Spanish publication COPE reports.
On Wednesday, the council of the International Football Federation (FIFA ) confirmed Morocco, Portugal and Spain as the main hosts of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. In addition, three matches of the tournament will be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay in honor of the centenary of the first World Cup, organized in Uruguay in 1930.
COPE says the tournament will begin on June 8, 2030, with a ceremony celebrating the tournament’s centenary and the first matches involving the national teams of Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay scheduled for June 8-9. The publication reports that the opening ceremony and opening matches of the 2030 World Cup will take place on June 13 and 14. The World Cup final will take place on July 21. Thus, the World Championship will last 44 days.
