The Slovenian returned to the Kyiv club after a loan at Legia
Winger Dynamo Benjamin Verbic spoke about his return to the Kyiv club after a loan at Legia.
Due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Verbic ended last season with the Polish club. In June, the Slovenian returned to Dinamo to prepare for the new football season.
“I really missed the guys, Dynamo. I was glad to be back, to see everyone after almost six months. Everyone remembers how we broke up, and therefore it was even more emotional when we met. Glad to work with them again, looking forward to the matches. I was glad to see everyone, I hope they were also glad to see me. It’s good when you feel at home,” Verbic said.
“Of course, the first month [в Легии] was heavy. Especially when there was a match between Legia and Dynamo, I saw all the boys and knew how they were suffering, because many of their loved ones were in danger. It was unusual to play for another team. In my thoughts I have always been with Dynamo. I’m glad to be back here.”
“Why did I cry, hugging Denis Boyko? It was hard on my soul, a beautiful song sounded after the game, and then I thought that maybe I played the last time for Dynamo. But everything turned out differently, I returned to Dynamo. Ukraine gave me a lot, and I wanted to repay it. Therefore, I will try to help Dynamo reach the Champions League.”
“Lucescu? Of course, we talked to him even when I finished the season in Legia. We talked about when the fees will begin. I feel comfortable working under his leadership, because I know his coaching skills. As does every player.”
“What would you like to say to the Ukrainians, the soldiers defending Ukraine? Hold on, we are with you. We, as we can, will help you with victories on the football field. We will win on the field, and you will be there.”
Today Dinamo will play a test match against Sion in Switzerland. The game starts at 20:00 Kyiv time.
