A famous American boxer made a prediction for the fight between Usik and Fury
Former World Heavyweight Champion Shannon Briggs spoke about the fight for the undisputed heavyweight title between Alexander Usik And Tyson Fury. The 51-year-old American preferred “The Gypsy King”.
“You can’t go against Fury in this fight. He never loses and you can’t be effective against a fighter like that. Fury is a tough man. Look at his legs and funny physique. He has the legs of an ordinary tall boxer, and the body of a fat man who has never exercised. I can say that all this helps him. The guy has no muscles.”
“At the same time, Tyson is very clever. He can move on his feet and works his core well. He doesn’t have knockout power, but it helps him get through the rounds. Fury is very durable. Such a tall fighter with such endurance and technique is very dangerous. Such a man could have succeeded in any era of boxing.”
“Dimensions don’t always matter, but this is not the case. Anyone can break down when they fight a guy like that.”
Usik and Fury have already signed a contract to fight for the absolute title in the heavyweight category. The fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia. It is planned that the exact date of the event will be announced after the fight between the “Gypsy King” and Francis Ngannou.
Usyk, in his last fight on August 26 in Wroclaw, defeated Daniel Dubois by technical knockout in the ninth round and defended his WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight titles.
Fury will fight former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou in a 10-round fight on October 28 in Riyadh. The WBC title will not be on the line.
