The next UPL season will be partially held abroad – journalist

UPL matches between clubs participating in European competitions will be held outside Ukraine

Next Ukrainian Premier League season partially held per border, reports the journalist of TK Football 1/2/3 Igor Burbas.

UPL matches will be held abroad between clubs that made it to European competition. They received permission to play among themselves outside of Ukraine for the period of performances in the group stage of European tournaments.

Recall that five clubs will represent Ukraine in the upcoming European Cup season: Shakhtar (Champions League, group stage), Dynamo (Champions League, qualification), Dnipro-1 (Europa League, qualification), Zorya and Vorskla (both – Conference League, qualification) .

Earlier it was reported that the majority of the UPL clubs are not opposed to the participants of European competitions playing matches abroad, and are ready to leave Ukraine for away matches, but at the same time they want compensation for all expenses. Only Kolos, Alexandria, Kryvbas and Rukh opposed.

The start of the 2022/23 championship is tentatively scheduled for August 20. In the new season, 16 teams will play in the Premier League, the championship matches will be held in two rounds (30 rounds).

Last football season in Ukraine ended ahead of schedule due to a full-scale Russian invasion of the country. Ukraine has been opposing the military aggression of the Russian Federation for the 128th day.
