The blue-and-yellows lost their two-goal advantage, but scored a third in stoppage time
Ukraine U-21 national team snatched victory over England in qualification European Youth Championship 2025 – 3:2.
The English took the advantage from the first minutes, but Unai Melgosa’s men carried out dangerous counterattacks. In one of them, Nazar Voloshin successfully navigated the penalty area and opened the scoring. And at the end of the first half, Oleg Ocheretko scored from a free kick from an acute angle.
After the break, the British threw all their efforts into winning back. Noni Madueke managed to reduce the gap, and at the very end of the second half Charlie Cresswell scored the second goal.
The blue-and-yellows managed to snatch victory in stoppage time. Ilya Kvasnitsa, who came on as a substitute, decided the outcome of the match with a shot into the bottom corner.
The Ukrainian U-21 team scored nine points after three matches and single-handedly topped Group F. The English are in second place with six points. In the next match, Melgosa’s team will meet Luxembourg on November 17.
