All players are ready and recovering after the match with North Macedonia
Head coach Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov commented on the upcoming match with Malta in the selection for European Championship 2024.
“As you know, Malinovsky will not be able to take part in the match; he has three yellow cards. Denis Popov recovered and began working in the general group. All players are ready and recovering before tomorrow’s match.”
“I think that in the first match the Maltese played openly, they tried to create chances. They had enough chances in the first half. Tomorrow we have to be very concentrated, it will be a very important game for us. I am sure that the players understand how difficult the game will be. We are preparing very seriously.”
“Rusin? Let’s see, there will be one more training. I am grateful to him, he works, there are no questions for him. Being called up to the national team means a lot of respect for him, he works with all the guys and he will have a chance to appear in the squad.”
The Malta-Ukraine match will take place on October 17. The meeting starts at 21:45. The fight will be judged by the Danish team led by referee Morten Krogh.
The Ukrainian national team takes third place in Group C of qualification for Euro 2024. Rebrov’s team has 10 points. Italy has the same number, having played one match less. England leads Group C with 13 points.
