“Has the situation with UEFA influenced thoughts on a possible move to Asia? How could it even influence that? UEFA decides to develop a scenario for the return, albeit of only one category of the national team, in their own competitions. If that is the case, we are trying to take a positive step, so how should we perceive it? Only positively!” – RB Sport quotes Mitrofanov as saying.
On September 26, the UEFA Executive Committee decided to allow Russian national teams consisting of footballers and football players under the age of 17 to participate in their competitions. All matches of Russian teams must be played without the country’s flag, anthem and national uniform and on neutral ground. However, on October 9, UEFA, citing difficulties in finding a technical solution, reversed its decision to restore the rights of Russian youth teams.
Please note that other teams and national teams of Russia are not allowed to participate in official competitions due to SVO in Ukraine.
