“More than a football club, Palmeiras is an organization committed to the challenge of positively impacting the football industry and society as a whole. Through the For a Greener Future program, the club works to encourage responsible behavior and carries out different social actions, exploring the wide reach of its brand. If we want to transform the world into a better place, everyone, without exception, must contribute. Our management is very pleased to be involved in such an important cause as the prevention and treatment of breast and prostate cancer”, says the President of the club. Data about post-pandemic diseases are worrying, such as the 54% reduction in prostate cancer diagnoses in Brazil according to the Ministry of Health, and a 26% increase in serious cases of breast cancer in the country (IJPH). Furthermore, according to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), 71.7 thousand new cases of prostate cancer and 73.6 thousand new cases of breast cancer are expected for the 2023-2025 period.

To the General Director of ACCamargo, Dr. Victor Piana Andradethe action will contribute to raising awareness and preventing cancer among the population. “Cancer still kills 10 million people annually, this scenario could be very different if we had healthier habits and the routine of taking screening tests. I thank PUMA and Palmeiras for joining ACCamargo in this action to raise awareness for everyone to think about cancer before you have one. This is what we call oncological health”he adds.

The new uniform was created with a split design, with one half pink and the other blue, representing both oncological causes. On the right side of the chest is pink with the PUMA logo and, on the left, the club’s traditional “P” embroidered on top of the blue color.
