Mourinho is in the sights of Saudi Arabian leaders: “Waiting for him”

Carlo Nohra, CEO of the Saudi League, revealed that he hopes to hire José Mourinho to work in Arab football and expects a phenomenon similar to Cristiano Ronaldo

After experiencing the busiest transfer window in its history, Saudi Arabian football signed several sports stars, but it doesn’t want to stop there. After having players who were among the best on the European continent, Saudi officials are looking to reinforce the role of their coaches. Like this, Jose Mourinho appeared as one of the possibilities.

This Monday, 16th, Carlo NohraCEO of Saudi Leaguerevealed his interest in hiring the Portuguese coach. “I, personally, am waiting for him. I don’t know if I can speak for all of Saudi Arabia in this sense, but probably yes. We have some big names in the sport and I hope there is room for everyone in Saudi football.”said the leader.

According to the director, the Saudi League gained relevance due to its big names transferred in the last window. However, for the competition as a whole to grow, Nohra believes that the local sport needs to have great professionals who also work off the field, such as coaches at the top European level.

“We are going to look for a new Cristiano Ronaldo effect, because we have to continue on this path. I hope José Mourinho has an equally big effect. But then, it depends on who comes after him, and then, and then… It’s a continuous path”stated the CEO.
