Tite talks about Flamengo’s plan for 2024: “Resumption of victories”

This Monday, the 16th, Tite held his first press conference as Flamengo coach, speaking about his arrival at the club and Mengão’s objectives

This Monday, 16th, Tite was introduced as the new coach of Flamengo. A week after the official announcement, the coach gave his first words to the press as commander of the Rio club. In his primary statements, the coach from Rio Grande do Sul opened up about how this approach with Mengão happened in the last few weeks of negotiations.

“It’s a challenge and a huge responsibility”, said Tite in his first statement as Flamengo coach. Furthermore, the commander remembered great players in the club’s history, opponents he faced when he was a player. Therefore, he wanted to demonstrate his knowledge and shared feeling with the fans.

“Yes, it is a project for 2024, it is the search for a return to important victories, with the prospect of a title. And then, an alignment of dates that we discussed, so that we could continue this work and have an extra possibility, which is what moves us. What moves me”said Tite.

Furthermore, the coach responded about the change of plans he had in his career. Since, after leaving the Brazilian Teamafter eliminating the world CupTite stated that he would not work at any Brazilian club in 2023, in order to take the year off to enjoy his rest or seek a chance on the international market.

“I prefer to put it like an adjustment of dates”stated the commander, who guaranteed that his choice for Flamengo was due to the plan presented, which concerns projections for 2024. Finally, Tite guaranteed that the Rio club’s objective, in 2023, is to achieve a direct classification for the Libertadores. “The prospect of the title is mathematical, but it is a dream”said.
