African newcomer from Krivbass – about his impressions of Ukrainian football, expectations from the season and his own position on the field
Forward Prince Kwabena Adunewbie Krivbassawho will play in Yuri Vernidub’s team under number 80, shared his impressions of moving to Ukraine, as well as his expectations from the new stage of his career.
“I am very happy to sign a contract with Krivbass because I followed this team. My friend Daniel Sosa plays here, I followed his performances. I feel that this team and its head coach need me, so I’m very happy and motivated.”
“I usually play behind the striker in the No. 10 position. But it depends on the requirements of the coach. If I need to play as an attacking wing midfielder or as a striker, it won’t be a big problem. Everything is decided by the coach and his tactical scheme.”
“The team is showing a very good result now. Everyone works hard and it pays off. It is necessary to continue to maintain this mood and hard work, to tune in from match to match, and this will help us remain in high positions in the championship.”
“I started following Krivbass after Daniel Sosa moved here. I started watching the team’s matches – I liked the game, the diligence of the players and the atmosphere in Yuri Vernidub’s team. As for Ukrainian football, I began to follow it thanks to your legend – Andrey Shevchenko. I really liked his style of play as a striker. I’m also impressed by the performance of Alexander Zinchenko, who performs at the highest world level.”
“When I arrived, I liked everything the first time: a warm welcome, modern renovation, high-quality lawns with natural surfaces, comfortable conditions for training and living. Very good infrastructure and club base, as well as the city.”
“Why did you choose number 80? I have a favorite number – 29, but it is currently unavailable. During the winter break, I will be able to change my number to my usual one. This is not a problem now. The main thing is to join the team, play well and benefit Krivbass. I have all the capabilities for this.”
“Krivbass fans, continue to support us in any situation. I will do everything in my power to bring you joy and positive emotions. We will work hard to get the desired result. I am confident that together we will be able to achieve new heights.”
Kwabena Adu became a Krivbass player in early September, but due to difficulties in obtaining a Ukrainian visa, he arrived in Krivoy Rog only in mid-October. While the necessary documents were being processed, he kept in shape in Antalya, Turkey.
The contract with the forward is for 4 years. Prince previously played for Bechem United and Isloch, and was also called up to the Ghana U-20 national team.
Krivbass leads the Ukrainian championship. Yuri Vernidub’s team will play the next match on October 20 against Metalist 1925.
