Goalkeeper loaned to Chaves from Flamengo, Hugo Souza was honest about the period of pressure experienced at the red-black club; player came from the youth categories
Hugo SouzaformerFlamengo, broke the silence about the time he experienced at the Rio club. Currently, the goalkeeper defends the Keys, from Portugal, under loan condition. In a statement to “ESPN”, the archer, revealed in Fla’s youth categories, acknowledged good performances for the Gávea team, but noted that the pressure from the fans was overwhelming.
“I have good numbers for Flamengo. There are 71 games and titles won, but this was the result of work. I also had bad moments and failures like any other player. With me, everything took on a slightly greater proportion, but also because people expected more from me. I had to stay strong and seek help from the people I love to get here and do a good job.”said ‘Neneca’.
After standing out at the base, Hugo debuted in Flamengo’s professional team in 2020. He managed to maintain a good sequence of games and participated in winning the Brasileirão, in the same year, being a starter in 23 rounds. In 2022, however, he fell short of expectations, was harshly criticized by the fans, was the victim of boos and ended up being loaned out.
