The head coach of the Ukrainian national team commented on the result of the qualifying match for Euro 2024.

The Ukrainian national team created many problems for itself in the match against Malta and solved them themselves. This is what the head coach of the “blue-yellows” Sergei Rebrov thinks.

At the same time, the specialist did not blame his students for the unsuccessful start, but thanked them for the important result obtained.

“In the first half we caused problems for ourselves, but we solved them in the second. In the first half we lost the match, we conceded the first goal, but came back into the game.

The game was very difficult, but everyone should understand that today’s result is very important. I thank the players that they got this result, but I am sure that we must improve our game.

We all congratulated Mudryk on his debut goal for the Ukrainian national team. This was a very important step for Misha. He created moments for himself and for his partners.

Let’s move on. These are very important 3 points. The opponent played well. The problem is not in Malta, but here. We have allowed Malta to create many opportunities. The Maltese are not motivated from the point of the tournament, they showed a good game in front of their fans. I don’t want to comment on Malta, they are in a very difficult group.

It is always difficult for the Ukrainian national team to play against opponents of this type, who close in their own half of the field. Malta played well in both matches. Yes, at first we created some chances, but we didn’t stop and try to attack. We had to score the first goal to gain more confidence,” the UAF website quoted Rebrov as saying.

We remind you that the Ukrainian national team won a strong victory over Malta in the qualification for Euro 2024.
