The defender signed a contract until the end of this season
Polesie announced on the official website the signing of a contract with the Brazilian defender Lucas Taylor. The Brazilian signed an agreement with the Zhytomyr club until the end of this season.
Last season, 28-year-old Taylor played for Shakhtar. In the summer, the Miners bought the Brazilian from PAOK as the player achieved his goals in the loan agreement, including the league title and agreed minutes on the field. The contract with Lucas was valid until the summer of 2026.
The player himself previously stated that he expected the contract with Shakhtar to be terminated, while at the same time maintaining game tone with the youth team of the Donetsk team.
Last season, Taylor played 16 matches for the Miners in all competitions. The defender has one goal and one assist. In Ukraine, Lucas also played for Lviv and Dnepr-1.
After ten matches played, Polesie ranks second in the Ukrainian Championship standings. In the next match, Yuri Kalitvintsev’s team will play against Vorskla on October 22.
