The Ukrainian team completed its performance in European competitions
Vorskla lost disastrously Roma in the return match of the second round of qualifying Women’s Champions League – 1:6. The match, like the first meeting of the teams, took place in Italy at the Tre Fontane stadium.
The Italian team took the lead towards the end of the first half through the efforts of Evelyn Vince. In the 50th minute, Nicole Kozlova restored parity on the scoreboard, but Vorskla didn’t have enough to do more.
Roma quickly regained the advantage after a precise strike from Barbara Latorre, and a double from Lucia Di Guglielmo made the score devastating. At the end of the match, Vorskla defender Yana Kotik twice cut the ball into her own goal.
The first meeting of the confrontation also ended in a victory for Roma – 3:0. Thus, the Italian team reached the group stage of the Women’s Champions League, and Vorskla completed its performance in European competition.
Let us remind you that at the first stage of the Champions Path, Vorskla beat first the Estonian Flora (4:3 in overtime), and then the Croatian Osijek (3:0). A year ago, the Ukrainian champions stopped one step away from the group stage of the main European Cup, giving way to the Albanian Vllaznia.
In the current Champions League, two clubs started from Ukraine. However, ZhFK Krivbass lost to FC Paris (0:4) in the first qualifying match and lost its chances of reaching the second round. In the next match, the Krivoy Rog team lost to the Swedish Linkoping (0:3).
