Santos’ permanent coach, Marcelo Fernandes expressed concern about the final rounds of the Brasileirão; Peixe is three points away from the relegation zone
Marcelo Fernandesof Santoswas candid about the team’s battle against the Z4 of Brasileirão 2023 (from which it currently establishes a distance of three points). In an interview with the “Arena SBT” program, the coach declared that avoiding any chances of relegation is Peixe’s main objective for the final rounds of the season.
“We here are very down to earth, we don’t get excited about absolutely anything. Mainly me and my committee. We have a championship with a Plan A, there is no Plan B. We are well aware of this. It’s getting out of there, out of the bad zone, to leave the Santos in its proper place”said Marcelo Fernandes.
Santos is in 15th place in the table, with 30 points: so far, there have been eight wins, six draws and 12 defeats. Alvinegro Praiano’s next challenge will be against Red Bull Bragantino, vice-leader, who has not lost in six matches in the Brasileirão. The duel at Vila Belmiro is scheduled for Thursday, 19th, at 8pm (Brasília time).
