Ukrainian’s forecast for the fight between the “Gypsy King” and the ex-UFC champion
World heavyweight champion according to WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO Alexander Usik gave a forecast for the fight of the WBC title holder Tyson Fury with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou. The Ukrainian is confident that this will be an easy fight for the “Gypsy King”.
“For Tyson Fury, the fight with Ngannou is a cake and butter. I’m speaking purely from a boxing perspective. When people say that Ngannou can bang somewhere and it will arrive – yes, he can do it. But how can you do this with a two-meter giant who has 20 years of boxing experience under his belt? And he’s fighting against a guy who hasn’t had a single fight as a boxer. Yes, as a UFC fighter he is a cool champion, specifically I am not saying that he is some kind of leftist. He’s a UFC champion, but UFC is not boxing.”
“I am one hundred percent confident that Tyson Fury will win this fight without putting too much effort into it. If something changes during the fight – let’s say, Fury will be lying on the floor, then I will record a video and say: “Wow, I was drizzled, but here it turns out that this is the case.” Yes, I admit that I was wrong, but we have to wait. Let’s see”.
Usik and Fury have already signed a contract to fight for the absolute title in the heavyweight category. The fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia. It is planned that the exact date of the event will be announced after the fight between the “Gypsy King” and Ngannou.
The 10-round fight between Fury and Ngannou will take place on October 28 in Saudi Arabia. The WBC title will not be on the line.
