The Ethics and Fair Play Committee is now focused on preventive work with players and clubs
Chapter Ethics and Fair Play Committee Ukrainian Football Association Francesco Baranca spoke about the importance of holding lectures and training aimed at explaining the fundamental principles of ethics and fair play for professional and amateur clubs.
“In recent years, we have managed to significantly improve the situation with betting matches. This allowed us to focus on preventive work. To avoid violations, we annually organize lectures for professional and all amateur teams. We monitor recent violations of ethics and fair play in other countries and present them during training as examples of prohibited behavior. I’m sure this is a great way to perceive and learn the rules.”
“We decided that I would conduct lectures in person at Premier League clubs for their first team and U-19 players, and my colleagues would conduct such training online for women’s teams and men’s teams who participate in other competitions. Ukraine is a big country, and physically visiting all the clubs is very difficult. The Zoom conference format has already proven its effectiveness since the pandemic.”
