Moscow “Dynamo “signed a new contract with the Uruguayan defender Diego Laxalt reports the “blue and white” press service.
The deal with the 30-year-old runs until the end of the 2025/26 season and contains an option to extend for another season.
Laxalt has been defending the colors of Dynamo since July 2021. As part of the Moscow team, the footballer played 40 matches and made two assists. This season, Laxalt, who previously played on the left side of defense, started playing as a midfielder.
“Diego is a very important player for us and we are happy that he will continue to help us achieve our goals in the future,” said Zeljko Buvac, Dynamo’s deputy general director of sports.
Previously, Laxalt also played for Italian Genoa, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Empoli and Scottish Celtic.
In the current season, Dynamo is in eighth place in the Russian Premier League (RPL) world rankings with 17 points after 11 rounds.
