The “Gypsy King” considers Francis a more dangerous opponent than Alexander
WBC world champion Tyson Fury compared his closest rivals – ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou and the holder of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO titles Alexandra Usika. The comparison was not in favor of the Ukrainian.
“A lot of people are talking about this undisputed title fight, it’s fantastic. But I believe that next Saturday I will have to deal with a much more dangerous opponent than Usyk. Because Francis is bigger, stronger, more powerful and has knockout abilities.”
“As we saw with Oleksandr Usyk, he doesn’t really do much damage to the people he hits. If you let Mustache hit you on the head, he will leave you with a bruise. If you let Ngannou hit you in the head, he’ll probably blow your brains out.”
The 10-round fight between Fury and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will take place on October 28 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The WBC granted Tyson special permission to fight the former UFC champion.
The Riyadh championship belt will be at stake in the Fury-Ngannou fight. The British promoter Frank Warren presented a special trophy at a joint press conference.
Usyk and Fury have signed a contract to fight for the undisputed heavyweight title. It was reported that the fight is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia. It is planned that the exact date of the event will be announced after the fight between the “Gypsy King” and Francis Ngannou.
The contract for the undisputed heavyweight title between Usyk and Fury contains a rematch clause. The clause applies to both boxers; the loser can initiate a re-fight.
