Corinthians beat Inter on penalties and reach the Women’s Libertadores final

With excitement in the Brazilian semi-final, Corinthians overcame Internacional and will face Palmeiras in the Women’s Libertadores final

O Corinthians won the International on the night of this Wednesday, 18th, and advanced to the final of the Women’s Libertadores. The Brabas secured qualification on penalties, 4-3, after a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium, in Colombia.

Internacional will compete for third place in the 2023 edition. The Gurias Coloradas will also face Atlético Nacional on Saturday, at 5:30 pm.

The game

The team from Rio Grande do Sul opened the scoring in the first half with Priscillaafter passing Mariza. With one more in the second stage, Corinthians sought a draw with a goal from Vic Albuquerque after a good play Gabi Portilho.

On penalties, Vic opened the penalty kicks by sending the ball onto the post and wasting it for Timão. The Gurias corrected three conversions, but wasted the last two, while Corinthians made the next four: 4 to 3.
