The Kharkov team has not been able to win the championship since mid-September
Krivbass beat Metalist 1925 in the away match of the 11th round Ukrainian Championship – 3:1. The match took place at the Left Bank stadium in Kyiv.
At the start of the match, Maxim Zaderaka brought Yuri Vernidub’s team ahead. In the middle of the first half, Oleg Kozhushko increased the Kryvyi Rih team’s advantage. Before the break, Beka Vachiberadze reduced the gap behind Metalist 1925, but Edmar’s charges failed to come back.
In the 68th minute, Zaderaka made a successful finishing move and returned a comfortable advantage to Krivbass. This is the midfielder’s sixth goal in the current UPL. He was recognized as the best player of the Ukrainian championship in September.
Krivbass leads the UPL, four points ahead of Polissya and five points ahead of Shakhtar. But the Krivoy Rog pursuers have games in hand.
Metalist 1925 has not won the championship since mid-September. The Kharkov team occupies 11th position in the standings.
In the next round, Krivbass will host Dnepr-1 on October 28. Metalist 1925 will play away against Vorskla on October 29.
