FIFA and AFC ban Palestinian national team from playing matches in Algeria

International Football Federation (FIFA) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) banned National team Palestine organize the next matches in Algeria, according to the website of the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).

— The FAF received a letter from Palestinian colleagues informing them that the AFC and FIFA have not given a positive response regarding the holding of Palestinian national team matches in Algeria. As per existing rules, they demanded that the games be held in the Asian region, the statement said.

The Algerian Football Federation announced on October 15 that it would host the Palestinian football team’s upcoming official and unofficial matches in the country, including qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup. .

In the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches, the Palestinian national team is scheduled to play away against Lebanon (November 16) and at home against Australia (November 21).
