An Englishman with Ukrainian roots supported the Arsenal and Ukrainian national team player
Defender and Captain Wolverhampton Max Kilman shared his opinion about the Arsenal player Alexandra Zinchenko. Also, an Englishman with Ukrainian roots explained why he cannot play for the Ukrainian national team.
“Zinchenko has done so much for Ukraine. He is an incredible representative of the country. Alex is very proud of his country and always shows it,” Kilman said.
“I grew up in England, I’m English, but my parents are Ukrainian, so I could play for both countries, but because I represented the England futsal team in some World Cup qualifiers, I can’t play for Ukraine.”
In May 2021, on the eve of the European Championships, Kilman received a Ukrainian passport. But the defender was unable to play for the country’s main team due to his performances for the England futsal team.
The current head coach of the Ukrainian national team, Sergei Rebrov, said that he would consider Kilman as a candidate for the national team after Max receives Ukrainian football citizenship.
This season, Kilman has played nine matches for Wolverhampton without scoring any goals. In the summer he became team captain.
