Oleg Danchenko: I haven’t played for 11 months, that’s a lot. Now my health is normal

Zarya defender talks about his return to big football after a heart attack and the match against Obolon

Captain Lugansk Zari Oleg Danchenko played only the first full match, having appeared in the main team this season. We all remember how Oleg had a heart attack in February of this year, during a training camp in Turkey.

— Oleg, was it easy for Zarya to win in the away match against Obolon?

— I think the match turned out to be interesting for the spectators. Football players from both teams demonstrated fighting qualities. The match turned out to be difficult for us, but, thank God, we won. I congratulate all our fans on this much-needed victory.

— This victory was only the second this season for Zarya. Amazing for the level of your team…

– Agree. But there are still many matches ahead, we will try to score points in every match.

— Was Guerrero Zarya’s best player in this meeting? After all, he scored two goals and earned a penalty.

— I think that our entire team, FC Zarya, was the best.

— Why didn’t Guerrero take a penalty at the end of the match, because he could have scored a hat-trick?

“I believe it’s up to the head coach to decide.”

— Oleg, a question about your well-being. You missed quite a bit of time due to the heart attack. How do you feel now psychologically and physically?

“It was hard for me psychologically, but every day I trained and worked individually. This is a lot of work. The most important thing is that now my health is normal.

— You haven’t played in the starting lineup since December last year?

– Yes, 11 months have passed. That’s a lot. However, I got my condition back.
