The Manchester United legend recently turned 86 years old
The legendary ex-football player died at the age of 87 Manchester United and the England team, Sir Bobby Charlton.
The Manchester club mourns the loss of a player and functionary who gave the Red Devils a total of 56 years of his career. United also expresses its condolences to Charlton’s wife, daughters and grandchildren.
The youngest of the Charlton brothers (the eldest, Jack, passed away in 2020) played in attack and midfield for Manchester United from 1956 to 1973, making a total of 758 appearances for the club and scoring 249 goals. Became the owner of KECH and three times champion of England. It wasn’t until 2017 that his Devils goalscoring record was broken by Wayne Rooney.
Bobby also made 106 appearances and 49 goals for the England team, with whom he won the world title in 1966.
Since 1984, Bobby has been a member of the board of directors of Manchester United.
