Rukh scored half a dozen goals for Veres and rose to the top 4 of the UPL
Head coach Rukha Vitaly Ponomarev shared his impressions of the super-effective victory over Veres and once again avoided answering the question about goals for the season.
“The result is positive, because Rukh won with a big score. We were preparing for a very serious game and it’s good that we managed to score so many goals. However, there are complaints about the concentration of the players – we must play to the end, no matter what the score. The team has young players who are now gaining experience in UPL matches, so this problem has yet to be resolved. I don’t want to single out any of the players – either for the good or for the bad. Football is played by a team, so all players are responsible for the result. As for the goals we conceded, it’s purely a lack of concentration.”
“Pidgursky missed more than three months due to injury and today he started for the first team for the first time this season. We are gradually allowing him into the starting lineup, because right now Denis is not yet 100% ready. However, he is a quality footballer, whom the team really counts on. Evgeniy Pastukh played a good match, but it is difficult to say whether his game was his best, because he played well against Shakhtar in other championship matches. As for the rest of the team, we will have a review of this match, and we will discuss all the game moments of the match.”
“There is a lot of talk now about European cups and Rukh’s results. But I repeat once again: our task is to create a combat-ready team that, over time, will be able to fight for the highest places in the championship. Young players are entering the field, so you can’t put pressure on them and demand results. However, the team must fight for victory in every game and give their best on the field.”
Let us remind you that Rukh defeated Veres (5:2) on the road with seven goals and rose to fourth place in the standings. Until the 82nd minute the score remained 0:3, but in the end the opponents exchanged goals twice. Evgeniy Pastukh scored a brace for the guests.
In the 12th round of the Ukrainian Championship, Rukh will host Alexandria on October 28.
