Losing at least one of the three rescheduled matches could leave Dynamo outside the TOP 5 based on the results of the starting 11 rounds
Dynamo, having lost to Dnepr-1, lost in the second round in a row – before going on a pause in connection with national team matches, the white-blues lost to Polesie. Over the past four seasons, under the leadership of Mircea Lucescu, such a sad series has happened for the second time: for the first time with a Romanian specialist at the helm, Dynamo lost twice in a row in the championship last season. Then, let us remind you that in the two starting rounds the white-blues lost to Dnepr-1 and Zarya.
If we take into account the cup matches, then the Kiev team has three defeats in four matches. The last time Dynamo had such a bad streak in domestic tournaments was in the 2019/2020 season, when the white-blues, under the leadership of Alexei Mikhailichenko, who replaced Alexander Khatskevich at the helm of the team, were unable to win the championship in four rounds at the start (one – the team was led by the Belarusian specialist) and three rounds at the finish.
If we talk about the current championship, then due to constant postponements, as well as misfires of teams from the top of the table, Dynamo could be considered a potential championship leader based on lost points. The defeat from Dnepr-1 freed the white-blues from this status. Moreover, Dynamo may, based on the results of 11 rounds, remain outside the TOP-5 and the European Cup zone.
This is what the UPL standings look like based on the results of less than 11 rounds of the championship.
If we talk about the teams from the top of the table, then Shakhtar, Rukh, Dnepr-1 and Dynamo had unplayed matches in the starting period.
Rescheduled Dynamo matches
- Dynamo – Metalist 1925
- Dynamo – Veres
- Zarya – Dynamo
Rescheduled matches of Dnepr-1
- Vorskla – Rukh
- Rukh – Dnepr -1
Rescheduled Shakhtar match
- Zarya – Shakhtar
Rescheduled Rukh match
- Rukh – Dnepr-1
As you can see, two teams from the top of the table – Dnepr-1 and Rukh – will have a head-to-head match. Therefore, we will evaluate two options in which all teams will score maximum points in the rescheduled matches.
Miner | 24 |
Dynamo | 24 |
Krivbass | 23 |
Rukh | 22 |
Polesie | 22 |
Dnepr-1 | 21 |
Chernomorets | 19 |
Ear | 15 |
Miner | 24 |
Dnepr-1 | 24 |
Dynamo | 24 |
Krivbass | 23 |
Polesie | 22 |
Rukh | 19 |
Chernomorets | 19 |
Ear | 15 |
If Dynamo loses points in one of the three postponed matches, the maximum that the Kyivians can count on, taking into account the 11th rounds, is 22 points. This is already less than that of Krivbass and the same as that of Polesie, to which the white-blues lost in a personal meeting. A loss in at least one of the postponed matches will leave the white-blues outside the TOP 5 based on the results of the first 11 rounds.
The dates for Dynamo’s rescheduled matches have not yet been determined. Dnepr-1 will play with Vorskla on October 25, and with Rukh on November 1.
