Vorskla coach talks about a major home defeat from Polesie
Head coach Vorskla Victor Skripnik — about his team’s dismal result in a home match UPL against Polesie.
“I want to thank the guys. They fought. Two teams were playing, and both wanted to win. However, one team scored, but we couldn’t do it, although there were good opportunities. All that remains is to turn this page and prepare further. The mistakes we made led to the goals we conceded.”
“The episode decided a lot. Before the penalty there was nothing at all, then the penalty, and we had to show a reaction. This is what we did. Yes, Polesie has strong, fast guys, but we also had good chances to score a goal. Unfortunately, we didn’t use them.”
Let us remind you that Polesie beat Vorskla with a big score in Poltava – 3:0. The first goal was scored by the visiting team from the penalty spot. The second goal came shortly after the break. In the last minutes, the Poltava team remained in the minority and managed to concede for the third time.
Vorskla has won only once in its last five championship matches. It’s surprising that this victory came in a match against the champion Shakhtar.
Skripnik’s team is in ninth position with 13 points. In the next round, Vorskla will play with Dnepr-1.
