Athletistic/Football. The Russian Football Union is negotiating with the next African team to organize a friendly match. The Russians are interested in meeting the Senegal team.
According to Sport-Express, with a low degree of probability, such a match could take place as early as November 2023, but the chances are much higher that the Russian and Senegalese teams will meet in 2024. The source notes that representatives of many national federations Africans noted the high level of the match between the Russian and Cameroonian national teams in Moscow and are therefore not against playing with the Russians.
In October, the Russian national team played two friendly matches: on the 12th in Moscow, Valery Karpin’s team beat the Cameroon team with a score of 1:0, and on the 16th in Turkey, they equalized with Kenya (2:2).
Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from participation in tournaments under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA since February 2022. Since then, the Russian national team has played exclusively friendly matches.
