The Zhytomyr club helped the team from the Zhytomyr region complete its roster in a difficult situation
The president FC Zvyagel Dmitry Kostyuk presented the club’s personalized T-shirt to the president Polesie to Gennady Butkevich.
“Now, for the first time in the history of the Zhytomyr region, there are two professional football clubs, both of which are fighting for the highest places in their leagues. A whole generation of young players from Zhytomyr is being raised, who, I am sure, will become the face of Ukrainian football in the future. The Polesie Academy is being formed, and the under-19 team is performing successfully at the level of the best teams in the country. In Zvyagel, for the first time in the modern history of Ukraine, children’s teams of different ages compete in all-Ukrainian competitions.”
“We find ourselves in a difficult situation, a fabulous epidemic of injuries. Seven of Zvyagel’s starting players are injured and out for a long time. In fact, in recent matches we didn’t even have enough field players on the bench to use all the substitutions. We postponed one match when ARVI was added to the injuries. Before the match with Rukh, we didn’t even have healthy goalkeepers. There could have been more of these matches, but here I want to thank Polesie, president Gennady Butkevich, director Vladimir Zagursky, and head coach Yuri Kalitvintsev, who helped us.
“Since the transfer window is already closed, only free agents can be signed, and it is almost impossible to find quality players in the middle of the season, Polesie met halfway, terminated the contracts and now we have a very good left back, Jan Morgovsky, who we desperately need due to Andrei Vlasyuk’s injury.” .
“Ian has already played several matches, gradually gaining his optimal condition, and in the match with Skala he gave an excellent assist to Ndukwe. And recently we signed striker Sergei Kislenko. Unfortunately, Artur Vashchyshyn and Maxim Maytak, who played with us last season and this season are the key players of the team, were out for a long time due to injuries.”
Let us remind you that Zvyagel is trained by former Polesie coach Sergei Shishchenko. Together with the coach, several Zhytomyr players came to the team, including defender Yan Morgovsky and Sergei Kislenko.
In the previous match, Polesie defeated Vorskla on the road (3:0). Yuri Kalitvintsev’s team is in second place in the UPL. Zvyagel ranks fourth in the Second League.
