The Donetsk club plans to invite the coach of the main team, Marino Pusic, to replace him.
Former Bosnian-Croatian footballer and current Feyenoord assistant head coach Marino Pusic will become Shakhtar’s new coach. This is what the publication Telegraaf says.
In addition, it is reported that the Pitmen will pay the Dutch club financial compensation for the departure of the specialist. The amount was not disclosed.
According to journalists, at first Feyenoord did not want to fire Marino, but then they accommodated the specialist and gave him the opportunity to lead the Ukrainian team and work independently.
Note that Pusic only worked as a head coach once in his career. In the 2018/19 season, he managed Twente, where he won the second highest division in the Netherlands. Most recently, the 52-year-old Pusic worked as Arne Slot’s assistant at the Dutch club.
Let’s remember earlier that Patrick van Leeuwen was fired from the position of head coach of Shakhtar. The acting head coach is Darijo Srna, who won the first game while at the helm of the team.
