The chairman of the board of directors died Everton Bill Kenwright. The functionary died at the age of 78.
Kenwright became a member of the Everton board of directors in 1989. In 1999, his consortium True Blue Holdings purchased the club. He initially served as vice-chairman and in 2004 became head of Everton’s board of directors.
Kenwright served as chairman of the club for 19 years, longer than any other senior executive in the Toffees’ history. During this time, Everton finished in the top eight of the Premier League 12 times, reached the FA Cup final and won six European Cup berths.
Ukrainian defender Vitaly Mykolenko plays for Everton. The Toffees are 16th in the English Premier League with 7 points. Everton’s next match will be away to West Ham on October 29.
