Spezia, Pio Esposito: “I regret the missed victory”

In the post-match Palermo La Spezia Class of 2005 also spoke to the press Francis Pio Esposito, after his second goal in the white jersey: “We brought home a great team performance. There is, of course, regret about how the match ended, but we played against one of the strongest teams in the championship and were close to victory, this shows that we exist and we are doing well. What we need to do now is to continue to work, to put our best into every match and to continue on this path, because I am sure that by continuing in the same spirit we will give our fans great satisfaction and move up the table because that we are doing this. We don’t deserve to be where we are, and even today we proved it.”

“To score at a stadium of this level against an opponent of this level is an honor for me. I’m sorry we couldn’t bring home three points, it would have been a completely different emotion, but I’m happy for the goal and for the path I’m on. In the first half I saw that if I had gone into the game I could have scored in the goal near the corner occupied by our fans, and when I saw the ball go in, all I wanted was to go and share the joy with them, who came in large numbers to such a distant away match on Monday evening, and we would like to dedicate the victory to them.”
