Previously, the football player published a publication on social networks that calls for the genocide of Jews around the world and supports Palestine in the conflict with Israel. The footballer later deleted his post and also made a public apology. However, given the nature of the publication and its seriousness, the club decided to immediately take the first disciplinary action against the player and suspended him from the team.
It was previously reported that Mainz suspended winger Anwar El Ghazi from training for a pro-Palestinian publication on social networks. The club management had a conversation with the player, the player deleted his post.
The 27-year-old defender has been playing for Nice since 2018. This season, Atal has played six matches in Ligue 1, in which he scored one goal.
Nice ranks second in the French Championship. In the next match, the Eaglets will play away against Clermont on October 27.
