The International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) has published a ranking of the clubs with the greatest number of players playing in the top divisions of the championships of different countries.
It should be noted that when compiling the list, the top divisions of 48 football associations were taken into account. The best Russian club according to this indicator was “Zenith” , 33 students of the St. Petersburg club play in the major championship leagues. Moscow is also included in the ranking. “Spartacus” (32 footballers).
The first place on the list is “Ajax” , 86 players from the Amsterdam club play in the major leagues. The second was Benfica (85), in third place – “Sporty” (83).
The players produced in this study are only considered players who spent at least three years on the team between the ages of 15 and 21 (including their 15th and 21st birthday seasons) before joining another club.
