The Ukrainian jokingly asked the ex-UFC champion to be careful in the fight with the “Gypsy King”
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Alexander Usik asked the former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou “take care” of the WBC belt holder Tyson Furyso that the Ukrainian could meet with the “Gypsy King” in December.
“Francis, be careful with Tyson, I need him in the ring on December 23,” Usyk joked.
The 10-round fight between Fury and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will take place on October 28 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. The WBC granted Tyson special permission to fight the former UFC champion.
The fighters underwent a weigh-in procedure before the fight. Fury was 2.5 kilograms heavier than Ngannou.
The Riyadh championship belt will be at stake in the Fury-Ngannou fight. The British promoter Frank Warren presented a special trophy at a joint press conference.
It is expected that immediately after this fight the final date for the unification fight between Fury and WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO belt holder Alexander Usyk will be confirmed. According to the “Gypsy King”, the meeting in the ring with the Ukrainian specified in the contract is December 23, 2023.
