Newcastle confirmed the entry into force disqualification for your football player, midfielder Sandro Tonali. The club was notified by FIFA about this on the evening of Friday, August 27.
The 23-year-old footballer has been suspended from football for 10 months due to the player’s participation in illegal betting. Earlier this punishment was confirmed by the President of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) Gabriele Gravina.
It is reported that the total sentence of the Italian is one and a half years, but the last eight months of them were replaced with a conditional ban with the obligation to undergo an appropriate course of treatment for gambling addiction.
The ban applies to all official football competitions worldwide under the auspices of FIFA. Thus, Tonali will be able to return to the field no earlier than August 27, 2024. Tonali previously admitted that he placed bets on matches involving Milan, his former team. The footballer made a confession during interrogation by the prosecutor in the case of illegal betting, which took place in Turin.
In addition, Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli admitted his guilt in participating in illegal betting and made a deal with the prosecutor’s office. The player was officially suspended for 12 months for engaging in illegal betting, five of whichX replaced with alternative instructions.
The Italian Olympic Committee’s Code of Sports Justice prohibits professional football players from directly or indirectly betting on events held under the auspices of the FIGC (Italian Football Federation), UEFA and FIFA.
