Bellingham on the Clasico: “I love these comebacks, it’s exciting but fun. We showed character.”

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham underlined the character of the team during the match of the 11th day of the Spanish Football Championship with Barcelona.

The meeting in Barcelona ended with a score of 2:1. Bellingham scored twice and brought victory to Madrid.

— It was a good day, the team was on top. We started to put pressure on their midfield and their defense, then we were rewarded, we showed character. I love feedback like this, it’s exciting but fun. I trust my teammates. We did everything we could, we didn’t give up and I’m happy.

I didn’t play my best, sometimes it’s not about trying to do something special, it’s just about continuing to play and I think I did a good job.

I’m doing well now, learning from my teammates and coaches, I just want to improve and help the team win.

I spoke to my family, but the noise in the locker room made things difficult. I told them I was excited, I had watched the Clasico several times on the sofa, with my little brother, my father and my mother. I told them: “Today it was my turn to show something,” Marca quoted Bellingham as saying.

Real scored 28 points and is at the top of the La Liga table, Barcelona (24 points) is in third place.
