Promoter Frank Warren confirmed that his next fight will be the WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury will hold with the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexander Usikbut could not name the date of the fight.
“I don’t think it’s possible to announce a date for the fight. But he is expected, everything is agreed. Both of these guys want it. And all that remains is to set a date.”
“Tyson has a cut, so it’s useless to schedule a fight. Let’s see how quickly it heals. But the fight will take place. This is the biggest fight in boxing. Everyone wants to see it, and they will see it here in Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, where it will break all box office records.”
It was reported that the fight between Usik and Fury is planned to take place on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia. It was expected that the exact date of the event would be announced after the fight of the “Gypsy King” with ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
Fury defeated Ngannou to win the Riyadh title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, as a result of which two judges gave the victory to Fury, one to Ngannou.
