The ex-UFC champion was more likely to land powerful punches
WBC world champion Tyson Fury landed more accurate strikes than the former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
The Briton made 71 accurate shots out of 223 attempts (31.8% hits). Ngannou accumulated 59 out of 231 punches (25.5%) over 10 rounds.
Fury achieved such an advantage through the active use of the jab (39:22 against Ngannou). Francis landed powerful blows more often (37:32 in favor of the Congolese).
Fury defeated Ngannou to win the Riyadh title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, as a result of which two judges gave the victory to Fury, one to Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.
Fury intends to fight his next fight with WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexander Usik. The British promoter Frank Warren said that he cannot yet name the exact date of the fight between Usyk and Fury. The Briton suffered a cut and will need time to recover.
