The Briton will not have time to recover by December 23
Promoter Frank Warren stated that the fight for the undisputed heavyweight title between the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexander Usik and WBC title holder Tyson Fury will take place no earlier than the beginning of 2024.
“The fight with Usyk was signed, and we were going to hold it on December 23, but I doubt that this will happen. Tyson cannot go to camp after such a difficult fight. He will have a week off, with eight weeks left until December. He needs some time to get his body in shape and give it a chance to recover before he returns to camp. So it will be next year, early 2024.”
“The season in Riyadh ends on March 2. So we can organize the fight before March.”
Fury defeated Ngannou to win the Riyadh title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, as a result of which two judges gave the victory to Fury, one to Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.
Fury intends to fight his next fight with WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexander Usik. The British promoter Frank Warren said that he cannot yet name the exact date of the fight between Usyk and Fury. The Briton suffered a cut and will need time to recover.
