Midfielder “Liverpool” Luis Diaz whose parents were kidnapped in Colombia, was not included in the squad for the 10th round match of the English Football Championship against Nottingham Forest reports the Merseysiders press service.
It was earlier reported that the parents of the 26-year-old footballer were kidnapped on Saturday near their home in Barrancas, in northeastern Colombia. According to media reports, Díaz’s parents were driving to a relative’s house when they were attacked at a gas station by four armed men on motorcycles who took their car and took them away. They were apparently heading towards the border with Venezuela. Later reports emerged that Diaz’s father and mother had been freed during the rescue operation.
This season, Diaz has played 11 matches, scored three goals and made one assist.
The match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest will start at 17:00 Moscow time.
