Malik Scott: We talked about the Wilder-Ngannou fight

The ex-UFC champion made a good impression among top boxers

Malik Scottcoach of ex-world heavyweight champion Deontay Wildersaid that the American’s team is interested in a fight with the former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

“Ngannou is now one of the options. We are already communicating about this,” the coach said.

Scott previously said that Ngannou exceeded expectations in the fight with Tyson Fury. However, the Briton, according to coach Wilder, deserved the victory.

On the night of October 29 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Fury defeated Ngannou and won the Riyadh champion title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, following which Fury won by a split decision: two judges gave him the victory with scores of 95–94 and 96–93, and the third – 95–94 in favor of Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.

Deontay Wilder was in talks to fight Anthony Joshua. According to the British promoter Eddie Hearn, if this fight takes place, it will not be earlier than March-April 2024.
