The Argentine plans to play his farewell match at Camp Nou
Argentine striker Lionel Messi stated that he wants to play in the future “Camp Nou”.
“When I left Barcelona I felt bitter and I don’t like it. I would like to change the ending of the story. I deserve to say goodbye to the people who brought me so much joy. Of course I would like this to happen.”
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is reportedly planning to organize a farewell match for the striker. Options for a meeting are being considered in June 2026, when the reconstruction of the Camp Nou stadium is completely completed, or in November 2024, when Barcelona returns to its home arena.
The 36-year-old Argentine won the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time. Messi beat out Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe for the 2023 Player of the Year award.
Messi played for Barcelona from 2003 to 2021. The Argentine later played for PSG, and in the summer of 2023 he moved to Inter Miami.
