Ngannou: I knew I wouldn’t win if it came to a judges decision, I’m new in the house

The Congolese believes he deserved to win the fight with Fury

Former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou said he deserved to win the fight with the WBC title holder Tyson Fury. The Congolese believes he had no chance of winning the decision.

“I won this fight. There is no doubt about it. But, you know, even before I got here, I knew that if this fight came to a decision, I wouldn’t win. Not because I haven’t done anything good, but because I’m new in the house. I come here and just interfere in people’s affairs. I know there is a structured business out there and a lot needs to be done to disrupt it.”

“I didn’t expect to just win by decision. But, you know, it is what it is. I’m doing my job. I know I did everything I could. Maybe next time I should do a better job of convincing people.”

Fury defeated Ngannou to win the Riyadh title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, as a result of which two judges gave the victory to Fury, one to Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.

After the fight, promoter Eddie Hearn suggested Ngannou fight Anthony Joshua. Also, Deontay Wilder’s coach Malik Scott said that the American’s team talked with Francis’ representatives about the fight.
