Taras missed the cup match with Victoria due to injury
According to the head coach Shakhtar Marino Pusicmidfielder Taras Stepanenko received a minor injury and may miss the next match Ukrainian Premier League against Kyiv Dynamo.
The Bosnian coach reported that the team captain was injured during training:
“Stepanenko has a minor injury after the last training session, nothing special. He feels well and will most likely return to training in a few days.”
“We might see him in the lineup in the next game,” Pusic added.
34-year-old Stepanenko was left out of the Donetsk team’s lineup for the Ukrainian Cup quarter-final match against Sumy Victoria, in which Pusic’s team won with a score of 3:0. The captain in this meeting was Yaroslav Rakitsky, who set the final score in the match.
In total, Taras played 11 matches for the Orange-and-Blacks this season and earned 4 yellow cards.
Shakhtar’s next match will be against Dynamo. This will be Pusic’s UPL debut. The match will take place on Friday, November 3, in Kyiv at the Dynamo stadium. V. Lobanovsky. Starts at 17:00.
