Hrgovic becomes a free agent

The Croatian heavyweight is being helped by manager Keith Connolly

Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgovic stopped working with promoter Nisse Sauerland and became a free agent. The Croatian will be assisted by his manager Keith Connelly.

Hrgovic is the mandatory challenger for the IBF belt held by Ukrainian Alexander Usyk. The Croatian is first in line for the mandatory title defense of the Ukrainian champion.

Philip is awaiting the results of the fight for the undisputed heavyweight title between Usyk and Tyson Fury. The winner of the fight between Alexander and Tyson will be required to defend the IBF belt without any intermediate fights. Otherwise, the belt will become vacant, and the Croatian will need to find an opponent for the title fight.

Hrgovic, in his last fight, defeated Australian Demsey McKean at a boxing evening in London at the O2 Arena. The Croatian retained his mandatory challenger status for the IBF heavyweight title, which he achieved last August by defeating Zhang Zhilei.
